CID JASMINE - Combat IDentification Server

CID JASMINE

CID (Combat IDentification Server) JASMINE is an innovative and much wider implementation of the assumptions of this type of solution than the original concept of NATO. It‘s an specialized integrator which significantly increases the situational awareness during the joined operations mainly by: identification of own and allied troops, exchange of data in this area, security of the forces, and thereby the efficiency of their operations.

CID JASMINE is one of the main components of Network Centric Data Communication Platform JASMINE, which belongs to a group of C4ISR systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance). It can also operate as a stand-alone solution working independently.

The system consists of software module - CID JASMINE, built of a set of services of C3IS JASMINE and hardware - Server Box of JASMINE platform.

CID JASMINE has been successfully used (including reliably tests) during the many the following foreign and domestic projects:

  • international exercise BOLD QUEST 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2021 - 2023 in the USA, where as the only solution from Poland achieved significant success in the area of:
    • without problems it was accredited for connectivity to exercises network,
    • passed tests with the NATO systems, including USA, Denmark and Italy, exchanged of the data with the following aircrafts: B1, F15, F16, F18D and F18E-Super Hornet in the scope of: visualization of the operational situation and the availability of data from the CID JASMINE server in the text form on the pilot’s terminal and tracking of listed aircraft,
    • passed performance tests,
    • cooperated with the PATRIOT air defense system on the exchange of information of air situation;
  • The next edition of the exercises:
    • international: NATO CWIX 2012 - 2023,
    • tactical, command post realized in Poland.

An example scenario of using CID JASMINE is presented in the diagram below.

An important advantage of CID JASMINE (especially its software) is the fact that it has numerous: NATO recommendations for operational use in allied armies, reports of important positive tests and operational references from the War Studies University. These, subsequent and in many cases unique features of this solution are confirmed, among others, by:

  • a recommendation for the operational use of the CID JASMINE Combat IDentification Server software issued by the allied CIAV commission (Coalition Interoperability Assurance & Validation);

  • a recommendation for the practical use of JFSS JASMINE (which also includes the software of the discussed CID JASMINE) clearly confirming that it is the only Polish product of this type which, together with only a few American solutions of this class, has successfully passed tests carried out by the USAF Operations Chief Joint Staff, J6 Joint Deployable Analysis Team (JDAT);

  • its fruitful use over the years (including reliable examination and testing) during many of the above-mentioned foreign and domestic military ventures and subsequent editions of important international exercises: BOLD QUEST (with the use of large numbers of troops and combat assets, including the latest generation aircrafts) and NATO CWIX (the largest coalition ventures in the field of combat interoperability).

CID JASMINE has also been recognized and awarded many times, including:

  • distinction received in 2016 from the Ministry of National Defense in the Innovations for the Polish Armed Forces competition in the industry category for the Network Centric Data Communication Platform JASMINE as an innovative, comprehensive, mutually coherent and unique System of Systems (of which CID JASMINE is one of the essential components) in the field of support (including automation) command and communication, dedicated to all levels of command up to and including the soldier;

  • Defender award - obtained in 2018 for the latest / significantly expanded version of SWD C3IS JASMINE - Multidomain Combat Management System of Systems (also the CID JASMINE software included in it), which is widely developed and successfully used on a global scale in the Polish Armed Forces;

  • 2 awards received during subsequent editions of the International Air Fair Exhibitions:
    • the main prize received in 2014 for the first Polish innovative CID JASMINE integrator, which significantly increases the effectiveness of data exchange between the Air Force, Navy and Land Forces as well as the safety of flying objects,

  • in 2019, an award for the Network-Centric C3IS JASMINE Command Support System (including its JFSS C3IS JASMINE and CID C3IS JASMINE software), ensuring, among others: integration, imaging and exchange of information with aircraft;
