The rich set of components of the Network Centric Data Communication Platform JASMINE on the days 2-19 of June has been successfully and in a wide scope used and tested in NATO CIWIX 2014 exercise. It passed all tests. In the exercise were used the following components: HMS JASMINE (including C3IS JASMINE), BMS JASMINE, CID JASMINE, JASMINE Web Portal , VIS JASMINE and TELDAT Tactical Terminals. The above mentioned solutions consisting of hardware and software of the JASMINE platform have been tested in the following areas:
-
Operational under the operational scenario at brigade and battalion level where the systems from other several countries took part.
-
We can state with a pleasure as follows:
-
HMS JASMINE was a key element of the operational scenario which integrated the brigade systems in division in the scope of data transformation between the blocks of MIP. The system as only one had a capability to integrate other systems which have not been compatible in the framework of the MIP Program. The system moreover:
-
efficiently transferred data with Polish battalion with the use of the unique BRM protocol developed by TELDAT engineers,
-
successfully collaborated with the system integrator JASMINE Web Portal at division level providing documents and integration with C3IS JASMINE;
-
BMS JASMINE as only one in the exercise was mounted on the vehicle board and was operating at long distances as mobile element of the system.
JASMINE solutions also has successfully cooperated with simulation and training systems during the exercise. It should be emphasized that JASMINE systems as the only pursue cooperation with simulation systems since 2012, including the following NATO systems: Sim2C2 (Simulation to C2 Interoperability testing), NATO - FLAMES (FLexible Analysis and Mission Effectiveness System), NATO LVC (Live Virtual and Constructive simulations suite).
-
Functional – where once again the C3IS JASMINE has successfully been subjected to the interoperability tests, especially the standards implemented in its set of services : MIP B2, MIP B3 i 3.1 (including transformation B2<->B3, NFFI IP1, IP2, SIP3 [e.g.. FFI], ADatP-3 11C/F, 12.2, 13.1, NVG 1.5, BRM, LINK16 - JREAP C, Link16 - SIMPLE and VMF).
-
Mobile – as it was mentioned earlier the BMS JASMINE has been intensively used together with tactical terminals. It was the only solution which is used in the exercise in mobile operations since 2012. The capability of cooperation of the system with UAV, simulation and training systems has been confirmed once again.
-
Combat Identification Server in which once again CID JASMINE was used. The tests of an implementation of the scenario of the server defined in ADatP-37 were successfully conducted this year the first time in the exercise. The accomplishment of interoperability is especially important because it enables the transfer of information between land and air forces pursuant to the obligatory NATO standards. It should be underlined that the CID JASMINE took over from NATO and US Army systems some duties regarding the translation of messages between FFI and FFI formats and vice versa.
The all hardware and software components which have been used in NATO CWIX 2014 once again confirmed that the functionalities and capabilities of the system are identified with the aims of interoperability and network capabilities of Polish Armed Forces. It could not be possible – what should be strongly emphasized – without full unification of components and technological solutions of JASMINE System. It was once again practically demonstrated and examined in the exercise. This exercise also clearly demonstrated that the only other individual national solutions in this area are not as mature, consistent, and comprehensive (there are no services dedicated to different levels of command like HMS, BMS and DSS ), they do not possess so wide spectrum of features as JASMINE which as a only Polish solution is a system of systems.
