At the request of the commander Land Forces our company together with other defense industry companies, we gave technical support during the preparation and conduct of the command post exercise of 11 Armoured Cavalry Division BORSUK 10 carried out on the days 24-26 of May 2010 in Wędrzyn. The main objective of this exercise was to prepare the commands and staffs to plan, organize and control combat operations using networkcentric support command system BMS JASMINE-FONET together with its software C3IS JASMINE System. These two components have been installed at the command vehicles, armored personal carriers and other combat vehicles. However, the soldiers were equipped with the software DSS C3IS JASMINE and personal networkcentric equipment i.a.: tactical terminals, personal wideband IP radio and helmet mounted displays, cameras and microphones.
Important event in the exercise was to use successfully wideband VHF radio, especially since this was done in large-scale tactical unit. The cooperation the BMS JASMINE-FONET with the combat radio clearly confirmed much more efficient and more reliable operation of system than the use of the means previously used which also exercised properly. On the screens of monitors and terminals was evident tactical display on the map the location and movement of troops, and keeping track of them, including a dismounted soldier. According to exercising soldiers it made possible to increase the speed and quality of decisions and actions which in turn raised the efficiency and increase the safety of soldiers and vehicles.
Additionally during the exercises the BMS abilities have been attested to cooperate with reconnaissance, artillery fire control system TOPAZ and antiaircraft system ŁOWCZA. Also direct image was transmitted from the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) circulating on the developed troops positions.
The commanders using BMS JASMINE-FONET including its software C3IS JASMINE expressed his satisfaction with the many advantages and opportunities in particular so far unavailable in other systems. They also emphasized the quality of solutions and the availability of new features and tools in the management of battlefield. “The attempt to support the soldiers with digital devices is a breakthrough event that points to the future and direction of further development” said the commander of the 11 Armoured Cavalry Division
